Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffNovember 12, 2018The redesigned CNN App for Android looks great and operates smoothly, providing you with a wealth of hot news from one of the world's most reliable sources. Unless you live in the US, however, you won't be able to access the integrated TV channel.ProsAllows you to post comments: CNN App for Android preserves the core functionality of the official Web site, enabling you not only to read news items, but also discuss them with other people. Other news apps we've tried don't always support comments.Beautiful and accessible layout: News items are presented in a neat one-column interface and feature a picture accompanied by a headline and a one-sentence summary of the article. You don't feel at all overwhelmed by text, and you can easily scan through a lot of articles to find what interests you most -- scrolling and flipping gestures are intuitive.Diverse content: While the sections are broad, including U.S., World, Featured, Justice, Health, Money, and Tech, the content you'll find in them covers current news as well as interesting original reports you won't find anywhere else.ConsNo TV: The app lets you stream CNN videos, but if you want to watch CNN's live TV you need 1) to live in the US and 2) sign in using your cable provider.Large ads: Ads are integrated with the content, appearing between news items as well as within articles, taking up quite a bit of space. If you live outside the US, some ads don't show, but you'll still see blank chunks of screen.Bottom LineThe new CNN App for Android proves to be an improvement over the earlier versions, featuring a much more compelling interface and overall better navigation. This is definitely one of the better news apps around. For CNN fans, this is a great way to have your news anytime, anywhere.
